Barking Cards Volume II Trial Version
ReadMe file - 4/18/98
This is a trial version of Barking Cards Volume II.
The complete version includes a collection of over
90 of our favorite Barking Cards. This trial version
includes a small subset of that complete collection.
If you decide to purchase Volume II, a CD-ROM will
be mailed to you including the addtional cards
(it's too large a file to be downloaded).
With Barking Cards Volume II there are many ways to
personalize your cards. You can customize the text
in the cards, add more text, add photos or clip
art, record voice messages or add pre-recorded sounds.
You can then send the self playing card to your recipient
by attaching it to an email or by saving it to diskette
and sending the diskette. To create and customize the
cards you must have a system with the following
minimum requirements:
- 486DX (or higher) IBM PC compatible
- Windows 95 operating system
- 8 MB of RAM
- 35 MB of available disk space for the full version
- 12 MB of available disk space for this trial version
- VGA or higher Video board
- 2X CD-ROM Drive
- Mouse
- Sound card (if you want them to hear the sounds)

TROUBLESHOOTING:
1. Installation Issues:
a) There have been reports of "This program has performed an illegal
operation" errors during install on some IBM Aptiva computers.
It seems that the version of Windows95 that ships with some Aptivas
includes a corrupt ODBCCP32.DLL file which can be found in the
Windows/System directory. The file should have a size over 90K
but the corrupt version is only 6K. If you find this is the
case during installation, temporarily rename the corrupt ODBCCP32.DLL
file to a new name before retrying the installation. Then proceed with
the installation which should now work. After Barking Cards is
installed you can go back and rename the corrupt file back to
ODBCCP32.DLL.
b) On some systems, at the conclusion of the installation an error
message appears, "_ins0432 This program has performed an illegal
operation". This is an Installshield message and it occurs after
all the files have been successfully installed. It can be disregarded
because Barking Cards Volume II will operate correctly.
Other Issues:
c) Pause/Quit toolbar is centered on the screen.
If you run a Barking Card and the Pause/Quit toolbar displays in the
center of the card, you need to adjust the settings of your video
card. To change this,
- Hit the Start Button
- Go to Settings
- Select Control Panel
- Choose Display
- Then Settings
- Then change the Center Dialog Box setting
